Here are some photos from the Youth Jam Merdeka Countdown that was held at Penang Times Square on (you've guessed it) Merdeka Eve, 30th August 2010.
We took a bus there and reached shortly after a couple of traffic crawl ups.
After a brief discussion, we took dinner and headed to the main stage where a variety of performances were held. To be honest, I was not quite a fan of most upstage happenings. However, for me to elaborate will require another blog posting and a lot of arguments. I guess you could consider it a rather sensitive topic. Hint: maybe we should try to look beneath all stage performances and try to figure out the reasons behind it (whether obvious or not).
But I digress. After a whole load of performances, it was time for the countdown. Us students took part in it. However, before we could actually complete the "show", the countdown started, and that by 5 to 6 minutes too early. I guess some people just got too excited.
Well, all in all, I had a great and certainly very interesting pre-Merdeka celebration, if you would call it one.
A happy belated Raya, by the way.
